Job summary

LSM Advanced Composites Pty Ltd in Toowoomba, QLD is seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Composites Technician to train in hands-on fabrication of carbon fibre, Kevlar and fibreglass parts.

The role includes operating a CNC Cutting Table, preparing kits, machining and finishing parts, with structured on‑the‑job training from qualified tradespeople. Full‑time apprenticeship with uniforms, PPE and tools provided, on-site parking, and hours 6:00am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with willingness to learn.
• Interest in engineering, manufacturing, and machining.
• Able to work independently with a high level of focus.
• Willing to undertake the relevant qualification as part of the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Advanced composite laminating, construction and assembly of parts.
• Follow procedures to manufacture components from production kits.
• Work as part of the production team.
• Programme, set and run CNC Cutting Table.
• Organisation and upkeep of production kits.
• Keep track of stock material levels for job requirements.
• General housekeeping of workshop/work area.
• Learn precision machining techniques and manufacturing processes.

LSM Advanced Composites is a respected national and multinational manufacturer of precision components using premium composite materials.

A position is available in the fabrication team for an enthusiastic and organised individual with excellent attention to detail. The role involves the hands-on manufacturing of components using advanced composite materials such as Carbon Fibre, Kevlar and Fibre Glass for a wide variety of applications from motorsport to aerospace.

Over time the successful applicant will be introduced and trained in all aspects of the production process from operating a CNC Cutting Table to cut material and prepare kits for manufacture through to machining and hands on trimming and finishing of parts.

This opportunity is well-suited for a high school graduate or anyone looking to transition into a new career.

Key responsibilities
