Job summary

dnata Catering, in partnership with MEGT, offers Apprentice Chef opportunities across our Australian operations. This is your chance to earn while you learn and gain a nationally recognised qualification within one of Australia’s leading inflight catering businesses.

As an Apprentice Chef, you’ll work with experienced culinary professionals to prepare meals, learn commercial cookery, and develop food safety and kitchen management skills while completing your apprenticeship through TAFE.

What you'll be doing

As an Apprentice Chef, you'll work alongside experienced culinary professionals to:

• Prepare fresh, high-quality meals for some of the world's leading airlines.
• Learn commercial cookery techniques in a fast-paced production environment.
• Develop food preparation, presentation and kitchen management skills.
• Maintain the highest food safety and hygiene standards.
• Work as part of a supportive and diverse team while completing your apprenticeship
• through TAFE.

What we're looking for

We're looking for people who are enthusiastic, reliable and ready to build a long-term career in hospitality.

To be successful, you'll have:

• A genuine passion for cooking and the hospitality industry.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
• The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and rotating rosters when required.
• Reliable transport to travel to work and TAFE.
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
• The ability to obtain a clear National Police Check.
• Certificate I or II in Hospitality (desirable but not essential).
• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience (desirable but not essential).
