Job summary

Porta Mouldings on the Central Coast of NSW invites motivated applicants to begin a career in cabinet making through a nationally recognised apprenticeship. This hands-on program starts from day one, with exposure to joinery processes across our Somersby and Charmhaven factories.

You will learn manufacturing, installation of kitchens and bathrooms, and maintenance of existing joinery projects, while developing problem-solving, reliability and strong communication and computer literacy.

Qualifications

• Year 10 completion required.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Reliable transportation across the Central Coast.

Responsibilities

• Rotates between Somersby and Charmhaven factories to gain hands-on experience.
• Participates in the cabinet making and joinery process from day one.
• Assists with manufacture and installation of kitchens, bathrooms, office fit-outs and other joinery projects.
• Supports repair and maintenance of existing kitchens and bathrooms.

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated person looking to commence their career within the cabinet making and joinery industry. This is a unique opportunity to complete an apprenticeship with a nationally recognised qualification in Cabinet Making. This is a hands‑on apprenticeship where you will begin learning from day one.

As a cabinet maker with Porta, you will be exposed to many areas of our business by rotating between our Somersby and Charmhaven factories, as well as our Construction and Warranty teams. This will provide you with hands‑on experience across the full joinery Process, including the manufacture and installation of new kitchens, bathrooms, office fit‑outs, reception counters and other custom joinery projects, as well as the repair and maintenance of existing kitchens and bathrooms
