Job summary

Newcastle MBA Group Training Broadmeadow NSW offers a Certificate III Bricklaying Apprenticeship. The host employer will provide on-the-job training, guidance and support while you gain a nationally recognised qualification.

You will learn masonry, bricklaying, blocklaying and related trades with mentoring from industry experts. Applicants should be committed to a four-year apprenticeship, have a strong work ethic, and hold a valid driver’s licence with reliable transport to local job sites.

• Strong work ethic and can-do attitude.
• Holds a current driver's licence with reliable transport to local job sites.

Responsibilities

CERTIFICATE III BRICKLAYING APPRENTICESHIP

About Newcastle Master Builders Apprentices:

Newcastle MBA offers a pathway for individuals interested in obtaining full-time employment in a high demand trade while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

Newcastle MBA will be your Employer for the duration of your Apprenticeship to handle everything administration wise and provide support and guidance while you're gaining on the job skills with a valued Host Employer.

• Receive accurate and timely payments - MBA processes your pay, superannuation, etc.
• Job Security - If your Host Employer runs low in work, MBA will attempt to find another Host Employer in order for you to continue and complete your Apprenticeship.
• Learn from and be mentored by industry experts.
• Don't pay, get paid - TAFE Fees are covered and TAFE textbook costs are reimbursed to you.
• Receive personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout your Apprenticeship (Steel-Cap Boots, Hard Hat, Gloves, Hat, Vest, etc).
• Toolbox and basic toolkit provided on your induction day.
• Receive dedicated support from our Field Officers throughout your Apprenticeship.

About the Host Employer/Role:

Our Host Employer is a successful Bricklayer that prides themselves on reliability, quality work and honesty. They complete masonry, bricklaying and blocklaying work in a modern and traditional style in the Newcastle and Hunter areas. They're looking for a hardworking new Apprentice with a strong work ethic and a can do attitude to join their team!

You will gain an understanding and develop a large range of construction skills such as, measurements, mixing and applying mortar, setting out, reinforcement techniques, laying bricks and blocks, problem solving, teamwork and communication. You will also learn to work collaboratively with the team to ensure efficient project completion.

Desired Qualities:

• A strong desire to learn and grow in the field of Bricklaying.
• Commitment to completing a 4-year Apprenticeship (TAFE studies and onsite skills).
• Find fulfillment in practical and hands-on tasks, considering themselves "hands-on" individuals.
• Honest, hardworking, reliable and able to follow instructions.
• Demonstrates strong communication skills with the capability to ask questions when needed.
• Holds a current drivers licence AND has reliable transportation to and from local job sites.
• White card or willing to obtain prior to starting.
