Job summary

Port of Townsville is seeking an Apprentice Boilermaker to assist with installation, maintenance and repair of infrastructure, plant and equipment on Port sites. This position is a structured apprenticeship with supervision by a qualified Boilermaker.

The role supports the pursuit of a Trade Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication (Sheetmetal/Boilermaking) and provides exposure to refinery-grade fabrication work while developing practical skills in a busy port environment.

• Under supervision you will learn and perform basic boilermaking tasks.
• Demonstrates willingness to learn and follow trade practices.
• Ability to work as part of a small team on site

The Apprentice Boilermaker will assist in the installation, maintenance and repair of the Port of Townsville’s infrastructure, plant and equipment under the guidance and supervision of a qualified Boilermaker whilst undertaking a Trade Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication (Sheetmetal/Boilermaking). This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop skills and knowledge in the Engineering Fabrication trade while working towards completing their apprenticeship program and gaining the necessary qualifications.

Salary will be paid in accordance with the relevant apprenticeship wage rates under the applicable award, plus superannuation.
