Job summary

Monash University is seeking a Rapid Application Engineer to join a dynamic team bridging research, technology and commercial innovation. You’ll work across the full product lifecycle, turning research ideas into digital solutions with real-world impact.

You’ll collaborate with researchers, designers and industry partners, applying modern tools such as React, TypeScript, Node.js, and cloud platforms like GCP/Firebase and AWS to deliver scalable, user‑centred applications.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of modern software engineering practices including coding standards, testing, version control, CI/CD, cloud deployment and infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of system design and API data flows, UI state management, authentication and data integration.
• Ability to translate complex research prototypes into practical digital solutions with a focus on usability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with researchers, designers, industry partners and technical teams.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment and learn emerging technologies.
