Job summary

Ampcontrol is seeking an enthusiastic Applications Engineer to join our Cameron Park, NSW team. The role suits graduates, cadets or early-career engineers eager to launch in industrial automation and engineered-to-order solutions.

You will work on high-profile projects across mining, energy, utilities and industrial sectors, gaining exposure to gas monitoring, control systems, and IP-based solutions while collaborating with experienced engineers to deliver safe, compliant, and commercially

Qualifications

• A qualified Electrical Trades Certificate, or a degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, or related Engineering.
• Strong interest in industrial automation, control systems, mining technologies and related fields.
• Experience delivering engineering projects or engineered-to-order solutions (desirable).
• Understanding of hazardous area engineering principles and intrinsically safe design (or willingness to learn).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Experience with mining communications, gas monitoring, or control systems highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineered-to-order solutions meeting functionality, safety, and performance.
• Support design, development, testing, and commissioning of engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with customers, project teams, operations, and manufacturing for project delivery.
• Assist with technical proposals, solution design and customer engagement.
• Ensure designs comply with Australian and international standards.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Contribute to cost-effective engineering outcomes while maintaining quality and profitability.
