Job summary

Ampcontrol is seeking a dedicated Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Mackay, Queensland. You’ll design, implement, commission and maintain control systems and networks that power mining, water, tunneling and energy projects.

You’ll split time between office-based development, site-based field service, and on-call support, applying PLC/SCADA skills in a hands-on environment across diverse sectors.

Qualifications

• PLC and SCADA programming skills.
• Understanding of industrial networking and bus systems.
• Knowledge of process control and automated systems.
• Experience with electrical switchgear and control systems.
• Exposure to control system network design for mining, industrial or power sectors.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, commission, modify and maintain control systems and networks for clients.
• Work will be split between office-based development, site-based field service and on-call support.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Systems Engineer, your solutions for automation and control system network design will help drive that advantage across the mining, water, tunnelling, infrastructure, utilities and energy sectors.

You will design, implement, commission, modify and maintain control systems, control networks and related technology for our clients. Work will be divided between office based development, site based field service work and ad-hoc on-call support functions.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Your willingness to gets hands on in a diverse engineering environment will be complemented by the following:

• PLC and SCADA programming skills
• Some understanding of industrial networking and bus systems
• Process control and automated systems knowledge
• Experience with electrical switchgear and control systems
• Exposure to control system network design for mining, industrial or power distribution sectors

EDUCATION:

• Diploma, Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• OR Degree qualifications in Electrical, Electronic, Computer or Mechatronic Engineering
• OR Electrical/Electronic Technicians with generous PLC/SCADA experience will also be considered.
• Electrical or Electronic trade certificate – advantageous but not mandatory
