Pentair is seeking a technically strong and commercially minded Application Engineer to support our Southern Cross Pumps business across Australia and New Zealand.
In this role, you'll work on major infrastructure, water, wastewater, mining and industrial projects, providing technical expertise that helps customers select the right pumping solutions while supporting our sales team and distributor network to deliver outstanding outcomes.

As the Application Engineer, you will play a key role in identifying and managing project opportunities, reviewing tender specifications, preparing technical submissions and providing application engineering support across our product portfolio.
Working closely with consulting engineers, contractors, utilities, distributors, OEMs and end users, you will help secure and deliver projects from initial enquiry through to completion.
Review and manage opportunities from tender and procurement portals.
Assess project specifications, technical requirements and compliance criteria.
Prepare quotations, technical proposals and tender submissions.
Complete datasheets, schedules and supporting documentation.
Select and specify pumps and associated equipment.
Provide technical support to customers, distributors and the sales team.
Coordinate engineered and non-standard solutions with internal stakeholders.
Build strong relationships with consultants, contractors and end users.
Support customers throughout the project lifecycle, including technical enquiries and troubleshooting.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Minimum 5 years' experience within the pump industry.
Strong knowledge of centrifugal pumps and pumping systems.
Experience reviewing project specifications and tender documentation.
Experience preparing technical quotations and submissions.
Familiarity with electronic procurement and tender portals.
Strong communication and customer relationship skills.
The ability to interpret technical specifications and performance requirements.
An engineering qualification (preferred).
Experience within water, wastewater, mining, industrial or infrastructure markets will be highly regarded.
