Job summary

Ampstek is seeking a senior software engineer to design and deliver large-scale systems for critical infrastructure in Perth. You will lead development across C#, .NET Core, Java, and modern web APIs, and collaborate with stakeholders in Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid environments.

The role emphasizes experience with Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, REST/GraphQL, and real-time data platforms (SCADA/PI preferred). Contract initially 6+ months with extension potential; on-site in Perth.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering enterprise applications for critical infrastructure.
• Proven track record with large complex projects.

Demonstrated knowledge of best practises when developing systems for critical infrastructure.

• Demonstrated track record of implementing large complex projects.
• Experience in high performing teams running in Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid projects.
• Proven skills in managing software builds, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
• Excellent stakeholder relations capabilities with the ability to form strong, trusting relationships with key stakeholders.
• Experience in power system/power market operation or power system planning preferable.
• An understanding of the WA Govt's Energy Transformation Strategy (ETS) and the proposed WEM Reforms preferable.
• Demonstrating excellent understanding of delivering enterprise applications, using: C#, .Net Core Java, Spring Boot ORMs such as Entity Framework, Dapper, Hibernate
• SQL, Oracle, PostGre, Databricks
• Web development methodologies such as SPA, MVC, PWA, Microservices
• Font end js frameworks such as Vuetify, Bootstrap, Element UI
• Scale-able and performant web APIs using modern methodologies using REST, GraphQL, WebSockets - ESB Integration platforms desired webmethods, Boomi, Mulesoft
• Distributed pub/sub messaging RabbitMQ, UM, JMS, etc
• Source code and artefact repositories
• Cloud Service Platforms and development. Microsoft Azure preferred
• Containerised development including Docker and Kubernetes
• PowerShell and Python a plus
• SCADA, PI, and real time systems a plus
