Slingshot Aerospace, Inc. in Australia is seeking a Space Surveillance Systems Technician to monitor and troubleshoot the Global Sensor Network remotely during normal business hours.

You will diagnose hardware, software, networking, and field conditions from telemetry and logs and coordinate with engineering for root-cause analysis. You will support field installation and maintenance across Australia and New Zealand, travel up to 25%, and help document procedures, inventory, and handoffs to

Competenze

• 3+ years of experience supporting optical, electrical, robotic, automated, technical field, or similarly complex systems or a bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across mechanical, electrical, computer, networking, or integrated systems.
• Ability to understand a system conceptually and connect remote diagnostic information to physical equipment and field conditions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and handoffs.
• Ability to work independently and know when to escalate issues.
• Working knowledge of Linux and cloud application tooling.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, drawings, and system diagrams.
• Basic proficiency with spreadsheets and operational recordkeeping, including inventory tracking.
• Ability to coordinate routine shipping, receiving, and equipment logistics with accuracy.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to ~25%.

• Monitor the health and performance of fielded GSN systems and conduct remote troubleshooting during business hours.
• Diagnose hardware, software, networking, electrical, mechanical, and system-level issues using monitoring tools and telemetry.
• Translate remote system behavior into likely physical conditions and determine corrective actions.
• Document troubleshooting activities and handoffs to enable effective collaboration across timezones.
• Escalate complex issues to engineering with clear technical information for root-cause analysis.
• Perform routine health checks, software/firmware updates, and preventive maintenance.
• Support field installation, integration, alignment, calibration, testing, maintenance, and repair of GSN hardware and software.
• Assist with global deployments and develop system expertise for Australia and New Zealand sites.
• Ensure activities follow engineering docs, safety standards, and requirements.
• Maintain inventory and asset records and coordinate equipment movement between locations.
