Slingshot Aerospace is seeking a Space Surveillance Systems Technician to keep the Global Sensor Network performing reliably across the globe. You will monitor system health, diagnose issues, and translate remote observations into actionable field insights, coordinating with engineering to maintain uptime and data quality.
Initially, you’ll work with experienced teammates on deployments and maintenance, then independently support Australia and New Zealand sites, with travel up to 25%.
At Slingshot Aerospace, we’re on a mission to make space safer and more secure for everyone. Our work directly impacts global security, disaster response, climate monitoring, and the critical infrastructure that connects our world. We’re a team of builders, thinkers, and problem‑solvers who believe that the next generation of space operations will be powered by better data and smarter software.
As a Space Surveillance Systems Technician, you will help keep Slingshot’s Global Sensor Network (GSN) operating reliably around the world.
The majority of your time will be spent remotely monitoring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting fielded sensor systems during your assigned business hours. You’ll need to understand how the systems operate conceptually and physically so you can translate what you are seeing remotely on a screen into what is likely happening with hardware in the field. You’ll investigate issues, document findings and actions taken, coordinate with teammates and engineering as needed, and provide a clear handoff to the team supporting the next timezone to maintain continuous global operations.
You will also support the installation, maintenance, and repair of GSN systems in the field. Initially, this will include working alongside experienced team members on global deployments and maintenance activities as you build system knowledge and hands‑on experience. Once fully competent, you may independently support installations and maintenance activities across Australia and New Zealand.
Travel is expected to represent approximately 25% of the role at the high end, although individual periods may vary based on deployment schedules and operational needs.
You’ll also support the operational logistics required to keep our sensor network running, including inventory tracking, preparing and shipping equipment, coordinating equipment movement, and maintaining accurate records. This work is expected to represent approximately 10% of the role.
You’ll work closely with engineering and operations teams to identify recurring issues, improve troubleshooting and maintenance procedures, document system performance, and continuously improve the reliability and supportability of our global network.
We’re building a constellation here, not looking for identical satellites. Every member of the team brings different capabilities to the same mission. If your orbit intersects with ours and you’re mission‑ready, send it.
