Job summary

Space Machines Company in Sydney (Botany) is seeking an Electronics Technician to maintain flight and ground support electronics through assembly, integration and testing on our Rendezvous and Proximity Operations spacecraft. You will rework and repair assemblies, manufacture harnesses, and run comprehensive tests in a cleanroom environment.

You will collaborate with electronics designers on bring-up, fault-finding and fixture development, ensuring traceability and conformance to flight

Responsibilities

• Rework, repair and modify populated electronic assemblies to flight standard, including fine-pitch surface mount and through-hole work.
• Harness manufacture, modify and test flight and EGSE wiring harnesses; cut, crimp, connector assembly, lacing, backshells and potting; verify continuity and insulation resistance.
• Own the electronics lab end to end: tooling, consumables, calibration status, ESD compliance and bench discipline.
• Run subsystem and unit level test campaigns; set up and operate test equipment, follow procedures, capture data with traceability.
• Support in-house electronics development through prototype board bring-up and methodical fault-finding alongside the design team.
• Perform assembly and integration on flight hardware under ESD, FOD and cleanroom conditions; support environmental test campaigns including vibration and thermal vacuum.
• Write and red-line work instructions, test procedures and as-built records; raise and close non-conformances.
• Provide practical feedback on manufacturability and testability early in the design process.
