Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Principal Strategist to define and lead energy and water regulatory and community strategies across the Asia-Pacific region. This high-visibility role requires deep policy expertise and the ability to shape the environment for deploying critical infrastructure at scale.

You will collaborate with Public Policy teams, engage regulators, industry bodies, and communities, and act as the external face of AWS energy and water initiatives in APAC.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in energy, water, utilities, infrastructure, regulatory affairs, industry strategy, or related fields.
• Experience working with external stakeholders such as regulators, government agencies, or industry bodies in Asia Pacific region.
• Strong public speaking and conference presentation experience.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize needs, and deliver results in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the APAC energy, water, and sustainability regulatory strategy; monitor policy changes and shape frameworks before they crystallize.
• Set the advocacy direction for Public Policy priorities with technical analysis and impact assessments.
• Prepare internal teams to respond to changing regulations by translating regulatory risk into action.
• Own a proactive community engagement framework to build social license for infrastructure delivery and communicate on sustainability.
• Represent AWS energy and water infrastructure in APAC at industry conferences, media engagements, and regulatory forums.
