Job summary

Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation QLD – Maroochydore QLD is seeking a role to interpret legislation and policies, collaborate with ranger teams, central office and external stakeholders, and help develop strategies for tourism and visitor management in protected areas and State forests.

You will contribute to ensuring activities are appropriately assessed and supported through permits, maintaining high standards of customer service, analysis, and reporting to support

Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation QLD – Maroochydore QLD

The position is required to interpret and work with relevant legislation, departmental policies, and work closely with regional work units (rangers), central office work units and external stakeholders and clients. Experience in protected area management and/or recreation management and assessing potential impacts of visitor activities on the natural, cultural and social values of parks and forests will also be well regarded. This position will participate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement, and continuously improve strategies and systems for tourism and visitor management in protected areas and State forests.

As part of a committed and collaborative team, you will help ensure that commercial and non-commercial activities are appropriately assessed, managed, and supported through permits and authorities that enable visitors to enjoy Queensland's outstanding natural landscapes while protecting environmental values for future generations.
