Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Payroll Officer for ANZ to ensure accurate, timely and compliant payroll services across Australia and New Zealand. The role collaborates with HR, Finance and the external payroll provider, handling data, validations and payroll inquiries to maintain payroll integrity and employee experience.

Qualifications

• Qualification in payroll, accounting, finance, business administration or related discipline is desirable.
• Payroll industry certification or demonstrated equivalent practical experience is desirable.
• Experience with end-to-end payroll processing in a complex organisation is required.
• Experience with Australian payroll legislation including PAYG withholding, payroll tax and superannuation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate weekly, monthly and other payroll cycles with the external provider.
• Validate payroll inputs including hires, terminations, changes and leave.
• Prepare and validate out-of-cycle payments and reconciliations.
• Maintain payroll records in HiNext and SAP with strict data privacy.
• Respond to employee payroll enquiries accurately and within service timeframes.
• Escalate discrepancies and compliance risks to HR leadership.
