Job summary

Western Sydney University’s Hawkesbury campus invites a dedicated animal science academic to coordinate, design, deliver and evaluate teaching units, supervise students, and contribute to undergraduate programs informed by current research.

The role also involves pursuing scholarship, publishing in high-quality outlets, and preparing competitive grant proposals, while building partnerships with industry and professional stakeholders to support student success and the School’s strategic direction.

Qualifications

• Doctoral qualification in animal science or closely related discipline.
• Record of high-quality tertiary teaching with student/peer/supervisor feedback.
• Demonstrated research or scholarship published or disseminated in high-quality outlets.
• Experience supervising research students at Honours and HDR levels.
• Experience contributing to successful research grant proposals and building relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, design, deliver and evaluate animal science teaching units.
• Provide undergraduate teaching informed by current research and disciplinary practice.
• Undertake research, publish and prepare grant proposals.
• Supervise undergraduate, Honours and higher degree research students.
• Build collaborations across School, Faculty and University with industry and professionals.
