The University of Sydney is seeking an LAS Technical Officer to support the Animal Phenotyping Facility and other Laboratory Animal Services facilities at Camperdown. You will provide expert technical support, maintain equipment, train users and work with researchers to ensure efficient, safe operations.

Key duties include coordinating equipment maintenance, managing access and bookings, documenting procedures and contributing to continuous improvement in service quality.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in animal research, life sciences or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with rodent models and behavioural/observational equipment.
• Experience supporting animal research programs and training users.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for animal research.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert technical support and training to researchers, students and facility users.
• Coordinate day-to-day operation of research equipment including maintenance and calibration.
• Manage facility access, inductions, bookings and operational processes.
• Monitor infrastructure, consumables and budgets to meet research needs and safety requirements.
