Camden Council is seeking an enthusiastic Animal Management Officer to manage and regulate policies and safeguard the environment and community health within Camden. This permanent full-time role involves animal welfare, shelter operations, and regulatory duties.

You will work a 38-hour week with a fully maintained leaseback vehicle, flex leave, health program, free parking and development opportunities as part of a supportive team.

Competenze

• Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Companion Animals Act 1998 and related welfare standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the public.
• Experience handling dogs and cats in shelters/public settings.
• Experience in preparing reports and documentation.
• Experience designing and delivering education programs for companion animal management.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to WHS and EEO principles.
• Experience in animal shelter operations and Companion Animal Register.
• Ability to manage livestock; authorised micro-chip implanter.
