Sandy Evans Recruitment presents a role to support the council in developing and implementing the Animal Management Plan. The position covers animal care, registrations, welfare activities, and record keeping, aligned with Local Law requirements.

An experienced candidate will contribute to animal welfare initiatives, handle registrations, and participate in educational programs while maintaining facilities and compliance standards.

Qualifikationen

• Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation (or equivalent) is required.
• Class C Licence (manual) or ability to obtain one.
• Hazardous Chemicals Certificate is required.
• Senior First Aid Certificate is required.
• Current Gun Licence (or ability to acquire) is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role with animal control
• Knowledge of animal behaviour, control and identification; good computer literacy.

The Opportunity

The purpose of this position is to contribute to the development and implementation of council’s Animal Management Plan and Policies. In accordance with Council’s Local Law, Keeping and Control of Animals, this position will take responsibility for domestic animals, holding facility maintenance and animal care, animal registrations and record keeping, animal welfare activities and feral animal monitoring.

Responsibilities - including;

• Holding Facility Maintenance and Animal Care
• Animal Registrations and Record Keeping
• Animal Welfare activities and educational programs

About You

• Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation or equivalent
• Class C Drivers Licence (manual) or ability to acquire
• Handling Hazardous Chemicals Certificate
• Senior First Aid Certificate
• Current Gun License (or ability to acquire)
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role;
• Demonstrated knowledge of animal behaviour, control, and identification
• Computer literacy utilising the Microsoft Office suite of products;
• Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, with ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Indigenous people
