City of Greater Geelong is seeking an Authorised Officer within the Community Safety & Regulation Team to support the Dog and Livestock control programs. The role involves investigations, gathering evidence, preparing legal briefs and guiding residents on responsible pet ownership in the Geelong region.

You will respond to customer service requests, seize and impound animals when required, and work with state agencies in emergencies, including after-hours coverage and enforcing local dog control

Qualificações

• Experience with evidence gathering and case preparation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse communities.
• Experience in animal control and regulation preferred.
• Commitment to public safety and animal welfare.

Responsabilidades

• Attend to and monitor customer requests/complaints per Service Commitments.
• Conduct investigations related to breaches of legislation.
• Seize and impound domestic animals and livestock.
• Work with state agencies in emergencies and execute warrants.
• Patrol for breaches of state legislation and local dog control orders; issue directives and infringements.
• Participate in 24/7 emergency after-hours on-call.
