Job summary

NSW Health Pathology at Nepean Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant for the Anatomical Pathology department on a permanent part-time basis. The role involves reception, triage, and preparation of specimens for diagnostic testing within a high‑quality pathology service.

The position offers 20 hours per week with an hourly rate of $33.76–$35.05 plus superannuation, and supports learning and development within a collaborative team focused on patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a public healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to manage tasks in a busy environment with time constraints.
• Strong data entry skills with attention to confidentiality.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 rotating shift roster and travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Receive, triage, and register specimens for processing.
• Assist in preparation and transport of specimens for diagnostic testing.
• Maintain pre-analytical equipment and ensure data accuracy.
• Support the Anatomical Pathology team to uphold quality and safety standards.
