Job summary

Origin Energy is seeking a Systems and Platform Analyst to design, implement and support the platforms underpinning our generation operations, including AVEVA PI, cloud services and IoT integrations.

You will collaborate with technology, operations and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, secure solutions that meet evolving operational needs. Real-time data, ITIL alignment and architecture documentation are valuable assets.

Qualifications

• Experience in a tech/engineering environment with complex systems and platforms.
• Proficiency with scripting in PowerShell or Python.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, system architecture, networking and cloud services and integration patterns.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with prioritisation by impact.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Analyse requirements to design, develop, and maintain integrated generation platform systems.
• Configure, monitor and support PI interfaces, adapters and OPC connections for reliable data transfer.
• Provide guidance on system architecture, networking and integration patterns focusing on performance, scalability, reliability and security.

About the role

As a Systems and Platform Analyst, you'll help design, implement and support the integrated platforms that underpin Origin's generation operations.

Working across key applications, networks and devices—including AVEVA PI and associated cloud, IoT and industrial data services—you'll ensure our systems operate reliably, securely and efficiently. You'll partner with technology, operations and business stakeholders to understand requirements, resolve complex technical issues and develop solutions that meet evolving operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse business and operational requirements to design, develop, support and maintain integrated generation platform systems.
• Configure, monitor and support PI interfaces, adapters and OPC connections to enable reliable data transfer across systems.
• Provide technical guidance on system architecture, networking and integration patterns, with a focus on performance, scalability, reliability and security.
• Troubleshoot complex system, integration and network issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
• Document system designs, operational procedures and integration patterns while evaluating emerging technologies that could improve platform performance and efficiency.

What you will bring

• Experience in a technology or engineering environment, supporting complex systems, platforms or integrations.
• Scripting capability using languages such as PowerShell or Python.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, system architecture, networking and cloud services, with experience applying integration patterns across enterprise, operational and real-time data systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise work based on operational impact and system criticality.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience designing real-time architectures, working with ITIL frameworks or producing technical architecture diagrams and knowledge-management content would be beneficial. Confidence facilitating workshops and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders would also be advantageous.
