The Opportunity

The purpose of the Analyst – New Business & Market Entry (12 months fixed term) role is to provide high-quality research and analytical support that enables data-driven decisions on new business opportunities, including entry into new markets and consumer segments.

Working cross-functionally with Marketing, Commercial, Product and Finance teams, you will analyse complex market, category, competitor and consumer information and translate it into clear, actionable insights. Your work will help identify growth opportunities, validate strategic assumptions and inform opportunity selection, market-entry strategies and commercial planning.

This is an exciting opportunity for a curious and commercially minded analyst who enjoys working with complex information and influencing important business decisions through evidence-based recommendations. This role will be based in Sydney – working from Surry Hills at least 3 days per week and 2 days from home.

What You’ll Be Doing?

Identifying emerging market and consumer trends and assessing their implications for potential business opportunities

Supporting the prioritisation of opportunities using relevant strategic and commercial criteria.

Analysing competitive environments, including key competitors, product portfolios, pricing models and channel strategies.

Identifying potential sources of competitive advantage, market gaps and areas of white space.

Monitoring changes in competitor activity, customer behaviour and broader market dynamics.

Supporting primary and secondary research to understand consumer needs, behaviours and purchase drivers.

Developing consumer and customer insights that help shape strategic direction, market-entry plans and differentiated launch strategies.

Preparing high-quality reports, presentations and recommendations for internal stakeholders.

Presenting complex findings clearly and concisely to support critical project milestones and business decisions.

Building effective relationships across cross-functional teams and ensuring research deliverables align with stakeholder needs and project timelines.

Proactively identifying risks, assumptions and commercial implications throughout the research and analysis process.

Contributing to the ongoing improvement of research practices, analytical frameworks and ways of working.

What You’ll Bring?

A tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Economics or a related discipline.

Approximately two to five years of experience in research, insights, consulting, strategy or a related analytical role. Exposure to consumer business, healthcare or similar nature of business with multi-country operations will be an added advantage

Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Proven ability to synthesise complex data and information into clear, commercially relevant insights.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and present compelling reports and presentations.

Effective stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple business functions.

Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to data quality and accuracy.
