Job summary

Catalyst Metals Limited is seeking an Alternate Underground Manager to lead the underground operations at Plutonic. Reporting to the Underground Manager, you will cover in their absence and drive safety, production and budget targets on a demanding 8:6 FIFO roster.

The role requires a First Class WA Mine Manager Certificate, a Mining Engineering degree, and extensive underground leadership experience. WA-specific licences and DGSC are essential for success.

Qualifications

• WA Underground First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency or equivalent.
• Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
• Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC).
• The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
• Previous experience in remnant underground mining will be held in high regard.
• Significant underground mining experience with leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Set and uphold a high standard for safety leadership; oversee technical work to develop the mine plan and the day-to-day execution of the mine plan.
• Support and lead the underground mining team, assuming responsibilities during rostered absences.
• Collaborate with Technical Services to develop budgets, operating plans and strategies that achieve production and business objectives.
• Monitor and analyse operational performance, implementing improvement initiatives to optimise safety, productivity and cost performance.
• Provide technical and operational leadership to ensure safe and efficient execution of the underground mine plan.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with legislative, statutory and company requirements.
• Demonstrate visible safety leadership by fostering workforce engagement, proactively managing risk and promoting a strong safety culture.
