Job summary

Murrumbidgee Local Health District in NSW is seeking an Allied Health Assistant – Level 1-3 for a permanent part-time role at Batlow-Adelong MPS. The role supports group and individual leisure and lifestyle programs and collaborates within a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care.

Applicants should hold a Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or Allied Health Assistance (or commit to completing within 3 years).

Qualifications

• Hold a Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle / Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or commitment to complete this training within 3 years of employment) or other relevant qualification
• MLHD will assist you with completing your Qualification – if successful our Allied Health Assistant Coordinator will step you through the process!
• Demonstrate expert level written and verbal communication skills
• Have the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Show outstanding problem-solving skills with demonstrate ability to take initiative

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a range of group and individual leisure and lifestyle programs
• Correspondence and document management - including the organisation of various deadlines and communications within a multidisciplinary team
• Perform and assist with activities under the supervision and direction of treating Allied Health Professionals such as exercise classes and community outings
• Facilitate and participate in diversional therapy activities
• Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients and the multidisciplinary team
• Create individual lifestyle care plans and programs for residents
