Job summary

Darling Downs Health is seeking an Allied Health Assistant – Advanced in Toowoomba to support older people to maintain independence and improve wellbeing. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, deliver delegated clinical activities, and mentor other assistants to develop skills in a collaborative environment.

You will contribute daily through patient-centered programs, teamwork, and opportunities to lead allied health activities within a supportive service.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.
• Experience delivering delegated clinical activities in healthcare/allied health.
• Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills; ability to build positive relationships.

In this rewarding role, you’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team, support patient-centred care, and mentor others while building your own skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.

What your day could look like

As an Allied Health Assistant – Advanced, you’ll play an important role in supporting older people to maintain independence, improve wellbeing, and achieve positive health outcomes. From delivering delegated clinical support to guiding less experienced team members, you’ll work alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team and contribute to care that makes a meaningful difference every day.

Every day, you’ll contribute by:

• Supporting patients through tailored clinical programs, education, and interventions that promote recovery, safety, and independence.
• Working collaboratively with allied health professionals and the broader care team to deliver coordinated, person-centred care.
• Leading and coordinating activities within the allied health assistant workforce to support service quality and team effectiveness.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to initiatives that enhance patient experiences and care outcomes.
