Job summary

McGrath Electrical & Data is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Tradesperson to join our team in South Grafton, NSW.

In this full-time role, you will install, service, diagnose and repair air conditioning systems for residential and commercial clients across the Clarence Valley, working independently and with our crew to deliver safe, reliable solutions and high workmanship standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified in air conditioning and refrigeration or equivalent trade cert.
• Current refrigerant handling licence and NSW licences
• At least two years of relevant trade experience
• Sound knowledge of air conditioning systems and refrigeration principles
• Ability to use diagnostic/testing equipment
• Strong commitment to work health and safety
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Clear, professional communication and customer service skills
• Physical capacity for manual work and working at heights
• Experience across residential and commercial installations/repairs

Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain and repair residential and commercial air conditioning systems
• Diagnose faults accurately using diagnostic equipment
• Complete scheduled maintenance to maximise system performance
• Inspect existing systems and provide clear advice on repairs, replacements and upgrades
• Complete work safely and in accordance with regulations and company procedures
• Maintain accurate job records, including work completed and parts used
• Communicate professionally with customers about scope, progress and outcome
• Complete work efficiently within agreed timeframes and budgets
• Care for company tools, equipment and vehicles and report maintenance requirements

Job description

McGrath Electrical & Data is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Tradesperson to join our growing team in South Grafton, NSW. In this full-time role, you will install, service, diagnose and repair air conditioning systems for residential and commercial clients across the Clarence Valley. You will work independently and alongside our team to deliver safe, reliable solutions and the high standard of workmanship our customers expect.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain and repair residential and commercial air conditioning systems
• Diagnose faults accurately using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment
• Complete scheduled maintenance to maximise system performance and reliability
• Inspect existing systems and provide clear, practical advice on repairs, replacements and upgrades
• Complete work safely and in accordance with relevant regulations, standards and company procedures
• Maintain accurate job records, including work completed and parts used
• Communicate professionally with customers about the scope, progress and outcome of each job
• Complete work efficiently within agreed timeframes and budgets
• Care for company tools, equipment and vehicles and report maintenance requirements promptly

What we're looking for

• A recognised qualification in air conditioning and refrigeration, or equivalent trade certification
• A current refrigerant handling licence and any other licences required to perform the role in NSW
• At least two years of relevant trade experience
• Sound knowledge of air conditioning systems, refrigeration principles and industry best practice
• Confidence using diagnostic and testing equipment
• A strong commitment to work health and safety
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Clear, professional communication and customer service skills
• The physical capacity to perform manual work and work at heights when required
• Experience across both residential and commercial installations and repairs is highly regarded
