Job summary

Aware Super is seeking a leader to establish enterprise-wide AI testing and assurance capabilities for high-risk, member-facing AI solutions. You will collaborate across Transformation, Technology, Risk and AI teams to set standards and governance.

In this 12-month day-rate contract, you will define frameworks for safety, bias, drift, explainability, and monitoring while guiding release readiness and operational excellence for members.

Join one of Australia's largest profit-for-members superannuation funds as we establish an enterprise-wide AI Testing & Assurance capability that will shape how AI solutions are safely validated, governed and released to members.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the development of AI testing and assurance standards for high-risk, member-facing AI solutions. Working across Transformation, Technology, Risk and AI teams, you'll define what good looks like for AI validation, assurance and release readiness in a highly regulated environment.

In this role you will:

• Define enterprise-wide AI testing and assurance standards
• Establish frameworks covering AI safety, bias, drift, explainability, resilience and ongoing monitoring
• Provide independent assurance and release-readiness recommendations for high-risk AI initiatives
• Partner with Technology, Risk and AI teams to embed AI assurance into existing governance and delivery practices
• Establish business validation approaches that ensure AI outcomes are safe, appropriate and member-centric
• Shape future-state AI-enabled testing and quality engineering capabilities
• Lead capability uplift and workforce transition initiatives across testing and assurance functions

How do you exceed our expectations?

• You will have experience building AI/ML testing, model validation, responsible AI or assurance frameworks
• Strong understanding of AI risks including bias, explainability, reliability, adversarial testing and monitoring
• Background in quality engineering, testing leadership or assurance
• Ability to translate complex risk and assurance requirements into practical business outcomes
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders across business, technology and risk functions
• Strong governance, regulatory and risk management capability
• Financial services, banking, insurance or superannuation experience
• Responsible AI or model risk management expertise
• Experience with AI evaluation frameworks, red teaming or adversarial testing
• Experience modernising testing functions and quality engineering capabilities
