Zurich Australia is seeking an AI Governance Lead to shape and govern responsible AI within a dynamic, digitally transforming insurance business. You will design and embed governance across the AI lifecycle, identify risks and report to leadership to balance innovation with risk management.

You will collaborate with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Risk, Data and Technology teams, driving automation and scalable governance, while supporting a healthy hybrid-work culture and professional development.

Formación

• Experience designing and operationalising AI governance frameworks, controls and oversight processes.
• Strong knowledge of AI risk management, privacy, cyber security, model governance and regulatory obligations.
• Understanding of generative AI, machine learning, agentic AI and related risks.
• Experience assessing technology solutions and applying practical, proportionate controls across the AI lifecycle.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders across Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Risk, Data and Tech teams.
• Strong analytical capability and governance automation mindset.

As AI Governance Lead, you’ll tackle that challenge head-on, helping create an approach to AI governance that is practical, scalable and proportionate to risk. The focus is on enabling innovation while making sure AI is used responsibly across Zurich.

You will also be responsible for the following:

• Lead and continuously enhance Zurich’s enterprise AI Governance Framework, standards and controls.
• Embed responsible AI principles across the full lifecycle of AI solutions.
• Identify, assess and monitor AI risks, including privacy, security, fairness, explainability and model governance.
• Design scalable, risk-based governance pathways that enable teams to innovate with appropriate oversight.
• Automate governance, assurance, monitoring and reporting activities to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Provide trusted advice and clear reporting to business leaders, delivery teams, executives and governance forums.

In order to be successful, you will have the following:

• Demonstrated experience designing and operationalising AI governance frameworks, controls and oversight processes.
• Strong knowledge of AI risk management, privacy, cyber security, model governance and relevant regulatory obligations.
• Sound understanding of generative AI, machine learning, agentic AI and the risks associated with emerging technologies.
• Experience assessing technology solutions and applying practical, proportionate controls across the AI lifecycle.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and work across Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Risk, Data and Technology teams.
• Strong analytical capability, sound judgement and experience improving governance through automation and governance‑by‑design.
