Job summary

Macquarie Group is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to help deliver an AI-first risk platform supporting investment management across assets. You will develop high-quality software, shape technical direction, and own quality, reliability and continuous improvement.

The platform uses Claude Code within the development workflow, with AI agents assisting design, implementation and testing to maintain pace and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with Python and modern tooling.
• Strong software design, domain modelling and API design.
• Experience delivering complex initiatives in Agile environments.
• Cloud, CI/CD and security-focused software design ownership.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot).

Responsibilities

• Hands-on senior engineer building an AI-first risk platform.
• Develop high-quality software, solve complex challenges and guide tech direction.
• Contribute to design, review code with AI agents, ensure quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with teammates and support production readiness and improvement.
