Job summary

Galileo Search is helping a large Australian financial services organisation hire a Senior Manager, AI Engineering in Sydney. The role combines leadership with hands-on coding to deliver AI-enabled software at enterprise scale.

You will build and lead an AI engineering team, hire engineers, and drive AI from pilot to everyday practice across products and platforms in a hybrid Sydney environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software, data or platform engineering; large org experience.
• Led a small AI or software engineering team and remain hands-on.
• Experience rolling out AI-assisted engineering and its impact.
• Sydney-based with hybrid work rights and experience in enterprise settings.

Responsibilities

• Build, hire and lead an AI engineering team, starting small and growing it.
• Put AI to work across software delivery: AI-assisted coding, testing, requirements and design.
• Build shared platforms and tools adopted by other teams.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, data and security to scale AI.
• Measure delivery speed, quality and adoption and report to senior leadership.
