We seek an Engineering Manager, AI & Emerging Technology, to drive scalable AI solutions and ensure governance and compliance across projects. You will mentor engineers, shape best practices, and partner with product and security teams.

Based in Sydney, you’ll influence how TAL leverages AI to protect and support millions of Australians while maintaining trust and operational excellence across the organisation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software, AI, ML or data engineering with 3+ years leading teams.
• Strong knowledge of generative AI, LLM-based systems and MLOps/LLMOps practices.
• Ability to guide engineering teams with clear standards, collaboration and growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-performing AI engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable and valuable AI solutions.
• Translate AI prototypes into production-ready services with strong quality, monitoring and operational discipline.
• Build an engaged engineering culture that supports growth, experimentation and continuous improvement.
• Set clear technical standards that strengthen AI delivery, platform reuse and engineering excellence.
• Embed responsible AI governance, risk management and compliance into every stage of delivery.
