Job summary

VicRoads is seeking an experienced leader to drive AI-augmented Quality Engineering and automation capabilities across our delivery lifecycle in Melbourne. You will define practical capability roadmaps, governance guardrails, tooling approaches, and partner engagement models to deliver measurable ROI.

You will lead teams, manage vendor relationships, and establish enterprise quality metrics, dashboards, and continuous improvement initiatives with a strong focus on value realization and risk

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ experience in quality engineering, automation, and/or performance testing.
• Proven leadership building and managing enterprise Automation Engineering & Performance Engineering teams.
• Experience leading an AI enablement roadmap for Quality Engineering with measurable outcomes.
• Experience developing business cases, investment proposals, and benefits-realisation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation engineering, performance engineering, AI-enabled testing enablement, governance and roadmaps.
• Define baselines and track measurable benefits from automation and AI investments.
• Establish scalable automation frameworks across web, mobile, API, data platforms.
• Manage vendor relationships, SOWs, and performance metrics for automation and AI services.
• Foster a culture of innovation and responsible AI adoption within QE.
