Job summary

Nixil is seeking a Senior Microservices and AI Technical Lead in Australia to shape the enterprise architecture of cloud-native platforms and drive AI-enabled practices across the software delivery lifecycle.

You will provide architectural leadership, governance, and practical leadership to multidisciplinary teams and delivery partners, guiding engineering decisions and embedding modern practices across CI/CD, DevSecOps, and platform engineering.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven architectures in complex environments.
• Proven record delivering scalable, secure, business-critical platforms.
• Strong expertise in AI engineering and AI-enabled solution delivery.
• Experience operationalising enterprise AI capabilities including semantic search and ML solutions.
• Knowledge of responsible AI governance and implementation practices.
• Senior software/platform engineering across modern frameworks; DevSecOps and CI/CD mastery.
• Ability to guide architectural decisions and influence technology investments.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and leadership across senior executives and delivery partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural authority for cloud-native, microservices, and AI-enabled platforms.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and transformation goals.
• Guide the adoption of AI across the SDLC and delivery lifecycles.
• Establish modern engineering practices including AI development, DevSecOps, CI/CD, testing, observability, and platform engineering.
• Lead enhancement of microservices and event-driven architecture capabilities.
• Drive platform modernization through containerization and enterprise integration.
• Improve scalability, security, reliability and resilience of critical platforms.
• Influence system builds, architecture choices, and investment priorities.
• Provide direction to multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Establish governance and standards for secure, scalable service delivery.
• Build internal capability through coaching and knowledge transfer.
