Job summary

Austal in Henderson, WA is seeking an enthusiastic AI & Data Governance Analyst to join our digital and innovation team. Reporting to the Principal, AI & Data Intelligence, you will help govern AI initiatives across operations, commercial and technical teams and ensure governance practices align with industry standards and business priorities.

You’ll work on identifying AI opportunities, maintaining the AI Register, and supporting due diligence and risk assessments while promoting responsible AI

Qualifications

• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and processes.
• Knowledge of AI governance, privacy and risk considerations.
• Understanding of data governance practices and metadata management.
• Experience with regulated industries and security clearances is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to identify AI and data opportunities that deliver value.
• Gather business requirements, systems and data sources to support AI initiatives.
• Evaluate and prioritise AI use cases based on value, feasibility, and alignment.
• Maintain the AI Register and ensure governance of tools and solutions.
• Support supplier due diligence, risk assessments and third-party governance.
• Assist with compliance against AI governance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Review AI and business data, preparing reports, insights and governance briefings.
• Develop guidance and awareness materials to promote responsible AI use.
• Monitor emerging AI technologies and regulatory developments.
• Maintain data quality, metadata and information records supporting AI systems.
• Collaborate with Principal on stakeholder engagement and governance initiatives.
