Job summary

DuluxGroup is seeking an AI Data Engineer to shape AI across our data ecosystem. You will build scalable data products and pipelines on our Databricks platform, collaborating with data scientists and platform engineers to deliver trusted data assets.

This hands-on role emphasizes data quality, governance, and security, with opportunities to influence modern analytics, ML, and generative AI initiatives across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As an AI Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping how AI is embedded across DuluxGroup's data ecosystem. Working within our Data & AI team, you'll build and maintain scalable, high-quality data products and pipelines that power advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI solutions. You'll collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and platform engineers to deliver reliable, AI-ready data assets on our modern Databricks platform, ensuring strong data quality, governance, security, and performance.

This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute to innovative AI initiatives, help establish best-practice engineering standards, and leverage emerging technologies to deliver business value through trusted data solutions.

What We’re Looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer working in modern cloud-based data environments, with strong SQL and Python development skills.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines using Databricks, Apache Spark, or similar modern data platforms.
  • Exposure to machine learning, advanced analytics, or generative AI use cases, with an understanding of AI-ready data requirements.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, data modelling, Lakehouse architectures, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure automation concepts.
  • A strong problem solver who can work collaboratively across technical teams and translate business requirements into practical data solutions.
  • A proactive, delivery-focused mindset, with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and building trusted, high-quality data products.
