Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll own capital and plant optimisation projects from scoping through to procurement, installation, commissioning and handover, working with site teams, contractors and suppliers to deliver practical improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant post-graduate experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing, process operations, or industrial environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage suppliers, contractors and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital or operational improvement projects from scoping to handover.
  • Collaborate with site teams, contractors and suppliers to deliver improvements.
  • Apply root cause analysis and data-driven decisions to reduce safety risks and costs.
  • Interpret and modify technical drawings using AutoCAD; knowledge of 3D design is a plus.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high safety standards.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll take ownership of multiple capital and plant optimisation projects from scoping and design through to engineering procurement, installation, commissioning and operational handover. Working closely with site teams, contractors and suppliers, you’ll deliver practical improvements that reduce safety risks, generate cost savings and strengthen plant capability. You’ll be empowered to solve complex problems, lead continuous improvement and manage projects as if they were your own business, while contributing to a people-focused culture where ideas, collaboration and growth are encouraged.

What We’re Looking for:

Demonstrated experience scoping, leading and delivering capital or operational improvement projects within manufacturing, process operations or a similar industrial environment.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously and deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.

A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving, supported by experience in root cause analysis, continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.

Clear communication and influencing skills, strong attention to detail, proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to interpret and modify technical drawings. Experience with 3D design packages is desirable.

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Chemical or a related engineering discipline, supported by at least 2 to 5 years of relevant post‑graduate experience.

Strong ability to compile scope of works and manage suppliers, contractors and consultants to achieve required capital project scopes on time and on budget.
