Job summary

Insignia Financial is seeking a technically strong Data Scientist or Data Engineer to join the Enterprise Risk team in Melbourne. You will design automated risk reporting, build scalable data solutions, and apply AI to streamline workflows, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights.

Collaborate with Risk and Technology teams to enhance reporting capabilities and governance. Bring experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, and data pipelines within financial services.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Data Scientist or Data Engineer or similar technical role.
• Advanced SQL and Python skills for large dataset manipulation.
• Strong Power BI capability, building dashboards from scratch with robust data models.
• Experience developing automation solutions to improve workflows.
• Exposure to AI, ML or Generative AI in commercial settings.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate technical insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with data pipelines, reporting solutions and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience in financial services or regulated environments is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of operational risk, governance or GRC platforms is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automated risk reporting, dashboards and analytics using Power BI and other visualization tools.
• Develop scalable data solutions improving operational risk monitoring and governance.
• Apply AI and automation to streamline risk workflows and improve control effectiveness.
• Build end-to-end dashboards transforming complex datasets into meaningful insights.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with Risk, Technology and business stakeholders to translate problems into data-driven solutions.
• Support enhancement of the Operational Risk Framework using innovative technology and analytics.
• Work with Atlas and other enterprise systems to deliver high-quality reporting and insights.
