Job summary

The Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) in Adelaide CBD is seeking an After Hours Social Worker to lead the After-Hours Social Work Service and provide psychosocial crisis intervention for children and families. The role focuses on preventing non-medical admission and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a clinical leader within social work and specialist multidisciplinary teams.
• Substantial and recent experience in an area of social work clinical specialty to enable input at a senior clinician level.
• Experience in managing and coordinating complex and high clinical caseload with minimal professional supervision.
• Knowledge of the roles of allied health, medical and educational professionals working with children.

• Salary – AHP3 - Allied Health Professional L3, $112,139 to $120,284 + 12% Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice Benefits
• Part Time (0.6 FTE) – 12-month contracts with potential ongoing. Potential for flexibility with FTE.
• These roles are specifically structured around after-hours weekday and weekend shifts — including public holidays — with shift penalty rates and five weeks of annual leave recognising the commitment that comes with the territory.

About the role

The role’s primary objective is to prevent the non-medical admission of children and young people to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and to provide psychosocial and crisis intervention to families presenting to/admitted to the WCH.
