Job summary

Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development NSW – Wagga Wagga NSW seeks an Agtech Specialist Grains to drive the Farms of the Future program at a regional level. You will manage regional hubs, deliver training and extension, and build networks connecting farmers with new technologies and opportunities.

The role requires coordinating regional projects with growers, industry partners and researchers, plus travel using a current NSW driver licence. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Science, Agricultural Economics or other relevant discipline.
• Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel.
• Demonstrated experience in agricultural extension, technology adoption or industry development.
• Knowledge of Agtech and emerging agricultural technologies.
• Experience coordinating and delivering regional projects and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence representing the department at industry events and forums.

Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development NSW – Wagga Wagga NSW

• Classification: Professional Officer Grade 1/4 – Salary from $78,000 to $149,805 pa (FTE) – commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience + superannuation

About the Role

The NSW Government’s Farms of the Future Program is driving innovation across regional NSW by supporting farmers to adopt practical, profitable and sustainable Agtech solutions. We are seeking an Agtech Specialist Grains to play a key role in delivering this program at a regional level.

In this role, you will work closely with growers, industry partners, researchers and government colleagues to accelerate the uptake of Agtech solutions that deliver real on-farm benefits. You will manage regional demonstration hubs and collaboration sites, deliver face-to-face training and extension activities, and build strong networks that connect farmers with emerging technologies and opportunities.

This is a diverse and rewarding role that combines project delivery, stakeholder engagement, extension, event coordination and technology adoption. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, brings a positive and proactive attitude, and can balance structured project delivery with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and opportunities. About You

To be successful you must hold

• Degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Science, Agricultural Economics or other relevant discipline
