Job summary

Hymix Australia is seeking a dedicated Agi Driver to operate a concrete agitator truck from our Belmont plant, 30 minutes south of Newcastle. You will join a full-time team, starting early around 4–6am, with hands-on 10-day training before solo driving.

You will deliver to various sites, interact with customers daily, and uphold vehicle presentation and safety standards. Base pay is $32.67/hr, with weekly pay and overtime rules in place.

Qualifications

• Must hold HR driver license with prior HR driving experience preferred.
• Current Construction White Card or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong people skills and ability to interact with customers onsite.
• Ability to adapt to different daily tasks and routes.
• Truck presentation and pride in vehicle appearance.
• Pre-employment medical including drug/alcohol test.
• Compliance with safety rules and weight limits on some trucks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver concrete using Agi truck to customers.
• Provide friendly customer service and communicate with clients during deliveries.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic safety checks.
• Complete training and comply with company procedures and safety policies.

Driving a concrete agitator truck for Hymix Australia is more than just going from A to B.

Our Agi Drivers are the face of our business, providing top-notch customer service to our clients. You'll be making multiple deliveries throughout the day, interacting with a variety of people.

Every day is different-there's nothing routine about this role!

What's the Job Like?

• Location: You'll be based out of the Belmont Concrete Plant, just 30 minutes south of Newcastle.
• Hours: This is a full-time position, and most rostered days will start between 4am and 6am.
• Pay: We pay a base hourly rate of $32.67 on a weekly pay cycle. OT is generally paid after 8 hours at time and a half and double time and a meal allowance once you go over 10 hours in a day.
• Customer Interaction: Driving an Agi is like being a Customer Service Agent on wheels. You'll meet lots of different personalities every day, so being comfortable with new people is a must.
• Technology: We provide cutting-edge technology to keep you safe, help you map your routes, and track your loads.
• Training: All new hires go through a 10-day training program with our experienced driver trainers before hitting the road solo.

About You:

• License: You must have a minimum of an HR license (essential) with previous HR driving experience (preferred).
• White Card: You will have a current valid Construction White Card, or be willing to obtain one before you start.
• People Skills: You enjoy meeting people and having a chat when you're onsite.
• Variety: You prefer variety in your work. No two days are the same when you're driving one of our Agi trucks.
• Pride in Your Ride: You take pride in the appearance of your truck. Keeping it clean and presentable is important-you are a mobile billboard for our company.
• Medical Check: Able to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test (random testing is also conducted on all Heidelberg sites).
• Safety: Some of our trucks have driver weight limits on their seats and seatbelts. For safety reasons, you may need to be under a specified weight for these trucks.
