Job summary

Hymix Australia is seeking an Agi Driver to operate a concrete agitator truck from the Belmont Concrete Plant, delivering to client sites and providing friendly service on every stop.

This full-time position starts early, with 4am–6am rosters, and includes training with experienced drivers, cutting-edge routing tech, and load tracking to keep you safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• Minimum HR license with prior HR driving experience preferred.
• Construction White Card required or willing to obtain before start.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage with clients onsite.
• Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol test.
• Safe driving record and adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver concrete via Agi trucks to clients throughout the day.
• Provide customer service and interact with clients on site.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the truck.
• Follow safety procedures and use provided technology for routing and loads.

Driving a concrete agitator truck for Hymix Australia is more than just going from A to B.

Our Agi Drivers are the face of our business, providing top-notch customer service to our clients. You’ll be making multiple deliveries throughout the day, interacting with a variety of people.

Every day is different—there’s nothing routine about this role!

What’s the Job Like?

• Location: You’ll be based out of the Belmont Concrete Plant, just 30 minutes south of Newcastle.




• Hours: This is a full-time position, and most rostered days will start between 4am and 6am.




• Pay: We pay a base hourly rate of $32.67 on a weekly pay cycle. OT is generally paid after 8 hours at time and a half and double time and a meal allowance once you go over 10 hours in a day.




• Customer Interaction: Driving an Agi is like being a Customer Service Agent on wheels. You’ll meet lots of different personalities every day, so being comfortable with new people is a must.




• Technology: We provide cutting-edge technology to keep you safe, help you map your routes, and track your loads.




• Training: All new hires go through a 10-day training program with our experienced driver trainers before hitting the road solo.

About You:

• License: You must have a minimum of an HR license (essential) with previous HR driving experience (preferred).




• White Card: You will have a current valid Construction White Card, or be willing to obtain one before you start.




• People Skills: You enjoy meeting people and having a chat when you’re onsite.




• Variety: You prefer variety in your work. No two days are the same when you’re driving one of our Agi trucks.




• Pride in Your Ride: You take pride in the appearance of your truck. Keeping it clean and presentable is important—you are a mobile billboard for our company.




• Medical Check: Able to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test (random testing is also conducted on all Heidelberg sites).




• Safety: Some of our trucks have driver weight limits on their seats and seatbelts. For safety reasons, you may need to be under a specified weight for these trucks.

What we offer:

• Base hourly rate of $32.67 per hour + penalties, allowances & super, paid weekly.
