Job summary

Aurec Human Capital Group is recruiting an Agile Lead for a Federal Government program in Canberra. You will coach delivery teams in agile principles, facilitate PI planning and cross-team activities, and drive improvement across multi-disciplinary ICT teams in a secure government environment.

The role requires at least 5 years of experience with SAFe and strong stakeholder facilitation, plus a tertiary ICT/business/PM degree and SAFe or Agile Coaching credentials.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting agile product delivery in Australian Federal Government environments.
  • SAFe certification (SPC, SASM, RTE) or recognized Agile Coaching credentials.
  • Tertiary degree in ICT/Business/PM and strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor delivery teams in adopting agile principles and high-performing ways of working.
  • Facilitate PI Planning, iteration planning, retrospectives and cross-team alignment sessions.
  • Proactively identify, track and remove delivery impediments while managing cross-team dependencies and risk.
  • Support Product Owners and leadership in workload prioritisation, delivery transparency and stakeholder engagement.
  • Establish and report on meaningful delivery metrics to provide insights into team flow, predictability and agile maturity.
  • Contribute to capability uplift through Communities of Practice and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support Product Owners and leadership in workload prioritisation, delivery transparency, and maintaining seamless stakeholder engagement.
  • Establish and report on meaningful delivery metrics to provide transparent insights into team flow, predictability, and agile maturity.
  • Contribute to broader organizational capability uplift through Communities of Practice, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience

To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:

  • Technical Toolkit: Strong expertise in SAFe frameworks (ARTs), Agile Coaching methodologies, PMBOK/PRINCE2, and agile metrics tracking tools.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience supporting agile product delivery and leading multidisciplinary ICT teams within Australian Federal Government environments.
  • Core Capabilities: Exceptional stakeholder management, advanced facilitation skills, and a demonstrated ability to influence and build high-performing, self-organising team cultures.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary degree in ICT/Business/Project Management plus SAFe certification (SPC, SASM, RTE) or recognised Agile Coaching credentials.
Eligibility & Clearance Requirements
  • Security Clearance: Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must hold a current NV1 (Negative Vetting 1) security clearance.
