Job summary

Southern Cross Community Healthcare is seeking an Aged Care Support Worker for Merrylands, NSW. The role involves supporting elderly clients to remain living independently at home, with duties covering personal care, domestic assistance, meal preparation, and medication prompting within the community.

Shifts are short (2–3 hours) across Mon–Fri, with car access essential for travel to client homes. Training and ongoing supervision are provided to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Passion for caring and client wellbeing is essential.
• Current references are required.
• Must hold a valid driver’s licence and have access to a car with insurance.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check is mandatory or willingness to obtain.
• First Aid certificate is mandatory or willingness to obtain.
• Working With Children Check – Paid is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Assist with domestic tasks and personal care (showering, grooming).
• Attend appointments and grocery shopping within the community.
• Provide medication prompting where required.
• Prepare meals for clients.
• Document and report on care activities.
