Job summary

Southern Cross Community Healthcare is seeking an Aged Care Support Worker in Cairns, covering Trinity Beach, Kewarra Beach and surrounding areas. You will help elderly clients remain independent at home by assisting with daily activities, personal care and domestic tasks, with support from qualified professionals.

Qualifications

• Current driver’s licence, vehicle registration and your own car with insurance.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain (mandatory).
• First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain (mandatory).
• Working With Children Check – Paid (mandatory).
• Certificate III (Ageing and Disability) or equivalent (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Assist elderly clients to stay independent at home with daily activities.
• Domestic cleaning: vacuuming, mopping, dusting, laundry, bedding changes.
• Personal care: showering, toileting, grooming and dressing.
• Reporting and documentation.
• You will be supported by qualified healthcare professionals and receive training.

Days/Hours

• There are a variety of short (2-3 hour) shifts available (Mon-Fri) in this program, please indicate your availability during your application
• Having a car and current license is essential to travel to and from homes in the community.
