Job summary

Mercy Health Australia is seeking a Maintenance Officer for Mercy Place Rice Village in Geelong. You will perform on-going repairs, preventative maintenance of buildings, plant, equipment, gardening and furniture, and help ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will manage contractors, maintain gardens, and support health and safety with a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or 3+ years in a maintenance role.
• Experience managing contractors or external tradespeople.
• Experience in Aged Care or hotel environments is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and within a local team.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-going repairs and preventative maintenance of buildings, plant, equipment and furniture.
• Maintain gardens, lawns and landscaped areas to a high standard.
• Complete routine gardening tasks: mowing, pruning, planting, weeding, mulching, irrigation.
• Liaise with contractors and report areas for improvement.
• Identify and action health and safety issues to provide a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.
