Job summary

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne’s Berengarra aged care facility seeks a part-time support worker to deliver meals, cleaning and laundry services with a resident-centered approach.

You will join a friendly multidisciplinary team, supporting food service, housekeeping and infection control duties while upholding person-centered care principles.

This role offers the PS21 classification with pro rata pay for 12 hours per week at Berengarra, located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

Qualifications

• Food Handling Certificate is essential.
• Experience in cleaning and food/beverage handling/preparation, preferably in aged care.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills.
• NDIS Check current or willing to obtain.
• Previous hospital or residential facility experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing short order meals and serve residents' meals.
• Maintain kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and manage cleaning tasks.
• Assist cleaning team with resident rooms, bathrooms, living areas and staff areas.
• Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and dusting.
• Support infection control procedures and safety guidelines.
• Assist Laundry by handling trolleys, washing, drying, folding and returning residents' laundry.
