Job summary

Life Without Barriers in Darwin seeks an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant (female) to help older Australians live independently at home across Darwin. You will travel between client homes, with reimbursement for kilometres driven, and support daily living needs.

Shifts are casual & part-time, Monday to Friday 8am–7:30pm, with occasional weekends. Applicants must have a valid Australian driver’s licence, driving capacity, and relevant First Aid/CPR certifications.

Qualifications

• Australian Driver’s Licence with a reliable vehicle.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience and/or qualification in aged care or support work.
• Current Provide First Aid and CPR certificates, obtained before employment.
• Commitment to compassionate, person-centred aged care.

About the Role

As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant (female), you will provide personalised home care support to older Australians in Darwin, helping them continue to live independently in their own homes.

You will travel between multiple clients homes across Darwinand surrounding suburbs, so a willingness to travel is essential (you will be reimbursed $1.01 per KM travelled while you are working).

We have casual & part time opportunities with shifts available Monday to Friday between 8am and 7:30pm, with occasional weekend work and no evening or overnight shifts. Successful candidates will have at least 3 days of availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Domestic assistance such as light housekeeping and meal preparation

Skills & Experience

• An Australian Driver’s Licence and a reliable vehicle with minimum third‑party insurance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
• Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community
• Experience and/or qualification in aged care or support work
• A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and Provide CPR (HLTAID009) certificate/s (must be obtained prior to employment)

Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre‑employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.
