Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant to provide personalised home care to older Australians in Ipswich. You will travel between clients’ homes from Anstead to Ipswich, supporting multiple people each day, with a mileage reimbursement of $1.01 per km traveled.

This permanent part-time role offers 15 hours per fortnight, with shifts between 8:30am and 7:00pm, Monday to Friday. There are no evenings or overnight shifts, and only female applicants apply.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Ageing Support or similar.
• Driver's licence with reliable vehicle and third‑party insurance.
• Strong communication with clients and families.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or obtainable before employment).
• Pre-employment checks including National Criminal History and Aged Care Statutory Declaration.

Responsibilities

• Domestic assistance such as light house cleaning and meal preparation
• Personal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and wellbeing
• Community access to medical appointments and social activities
• Provide support with daily tasks and routines

About the Role

As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will provide personalised home care support to older Australians in Ipswichto allow them to continue living independently in their own homes. You will travel between clients’ homes between Anstead to Ipswich supporting multiple people each day, so a willingness to travel is essential (you will be reimbursed $1.01c per KM travelled while you are working).

We have a permanent part-time opportunity of 15 hours per fortnight, with shifts available between 8:30am and 7:00pm, Monday to Friday. There are no evening or overnight shifts.

Skills & Experience

• Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing Support or similar
• An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
• Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)

Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.
